The Cartel is launching Cartel Pictures Canada to strengthen the company’s television production business in Winnipeg.
Led by Stan Spry and Eric Woods, with The Cartel’s VP of Production, Anthony Fankhauser, the new unit will put its effort in the production, financing, and development of films, TV movies and series. Most recently, the Los Angeles-based management and production company has produced four TV movies for Hallmark in Winnipeg, including One Winter Weekend and Under the Autumn Moon.
Woods remarked, “We are excited to ramp up our Canadian production slate which will help supplement our U.S. and worldwide production business. Our goal is to be producing a minimum of 20 projects next year, with around eight to ten in Winnipeg.”
