NBCUniversal International Formats secured a scripted format deal with Japan’s FUJI TV.
The deal will find the workplace drama Suits adapted for Japanese audiences. Produced by FUJI TV in association with Kyodo Television, the series will premiere in October, featuring actors Yuji Oda and Yuto Nakajima (pictured). Originally produced by Universal Cable Productions for USA Network, Suits is set in a top corporate law firm where power and rivalry unfold. NBCU International Formats recently sold the format to South Korea.
NBCU’s Ana Langenberg commented, “Suits remains as one of the most popular TV series in the US, so we are delighted to further extend the brand across Asia with FUJI TV.”
