HBO Nordic‘s first original production Gösta has started filming in Sweden. Written and directed by Lukas Moodysson, the eight-part comedy follows Gösta, played by Vilhelm Blomgren, as a 28-year-old child psychologist who lands his first job in a rural town. Moodysson commented, “I want Gösta to be a mix of comedy and Dostoevsky; as funny as possible and as serious as possible.” Gösta is produced by Lars Jönsson of Memfis Film. Executive producers from HBO include Hanne Palmquist, Steve Matthews, and Antony Root. Gösta will debut on HBO Nordic and across HBO Europe territories in the fall of 2019.
