Actor Michael Emerson joined the cast of historical crime series The Name of the Rose. Emerson joins John Turturro, Rupert Everett, Damian Hardung, Greta Scarano, Sebastian Koch, and James Cosmo, among others. Based on the novel by Umberto Eco, the series follows a Franciscan monk and his apprentice as they investigate a series of murders at a secluded monastery in the Alps. At the same time, the two are also pursued by a merciless inquisitor. The Name of the Rose is produced by 11 Marzo, Palomar, Tele München Gruppe (TMG), in association with RAI Fiction. TMG will handle the worldwide distribution rights, excluding Italy.
