19 animation projects in development were submitted by eight countries across Africa for the Annecy – MIFA Pitches Animation du Monde at DISCOP Abidjan, which is held from May 30-June 1, 2017. The nine semi-finalists include: Francis Yushau Brown pitching Tutu; Brukty Tigabu pitching Tibeb Girls; Scolly Cheruto pitching Machismo; Ingrid Agbo pitching L’arbre à Palimpseste; Boris Kpadenou pitching Petit Tresor; Curtis Gorhe pitching Association Avenue; Ayodele Elegba pitching Cast Away; Comfort Arthur pitching The Misfits; and Kimson Osaghae pitching Shade Mighty Maid. These nine semi-finalists will pitch their projects to industry panelists at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire on June 1, six of which will be selected to compete against the semi-finalists selected from DISCOP Johannesburg. The top two projects will then compete at the Annency in the Animation du Monde MIFA Pitches final.
