Studiocanal has signed an additional deal in Europe for Swedish-French drama Midnight Sun, as Sky Atlantic signs U.K. rights for the eight-part thriller. The deal will see the CANAL+/SVT/Filmpool Nord coproduction from Atlantique Productions and Nice Drama, debuting on Sky Atlantic in early 2017. Sky’s U.K. acquisition adds to a roster of international pick-ups for the series, joining ZDF in Germany, SBS in Australia, HOT in Israel, NRK in Norway, DR in Denmark, RUV in Iceland, MTV3 in Finland, VRT in Belgium, and Lumière in Benelux.
