Donald Trump’s surprise Presidential victory dominated the airwaves last night. NBC, home of his show The Apprentice, earned a 7.0 household rating in the metered markets, making it the top of the Big 4. However, overall, ratings for broadcast network declined since the last election. The combined metered market household rating for the four broadcast networks, 20.9, was down 8.7%, after bringing in 22.9 in 2012. This year, viewers had more options to watch the results live, including online, including on the broadcast networks’ platforms, viewership that is not included in their tallies.
