YouTube has ordered full seasons of the scripted comedy series Broke and the competition show Squad Wars from BuzzFeed Motion Pictures (BFMP), the Los Angeles studio arm of the global media and entertainment company. Broke is an 11-episode series following the lives of best friends and recent grads who pursue their big dreams despite empty bank accounts. Broke debuts exclusively on YouTube Red on September 28, 2016. In Squad Wars, BuzzFeed’s Try Guys put the challenge out to other famous squads to test the limits of their respective loyalties and friendship. In this original competition show, groups will compete in tests for the chance to face off against the Try Guys themselves, and claim the honor of Top Squad. The Squad Wars series will debut on YouTube Red in 2017.
