Production and distribution company Palatin Media and German public broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk/ARD, have struck a deal for Breakthrough’s production of L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. The two-hour special, produced by Breakthrough Entertainment in association with Corus Entertainment’s YTV and the author’s granddaughter, Kate Macdonald Butler, has launched on Canada’s YTV. The recent adaptation stars actor Martin Sheen as Matthew Cuthbert, half of the sibling duo that cares for a precocious young orphan, Anne Shirley.
