The Stockholm and Istanbul based distributor Eccho Rights is focusing on bringing Turkish dramas to Western Europe. The company recently licensed Cherry Season (Kiraz Mevsimi) from Surec Film/Fox in Turkey to Mediaset in Italy. The dubbed Italian version has attracted ratings with an average share of 18%( above the channel’s average), which makes it the first Turkish drama to be broadcast on a major channel in Italy. In a second deal, Eccho Rights licensed Broken Pieces (Paramparça) from Endemol Shine Turkey/Star TV to SVT. The series will run daily for 20 weeks on SVT2 this autumn.
