• Starz has renewed its contract with CEO Chris Albrecht, (pictured) effective July 1. The agreement will secure Albrecht’s position through 2020, and will add the role of president to Albrecht’s title and responsibilities. Albrecht has been the CEO of Starz since 2010, and was preciously the former chairman and CEO of HBO.
  • Hend Baghdady has been named senior vice president of Production and Alternative Programming at the Jackal Group. In the newly created role, Baghdady will head the creative development and production of content for alternative programming and digital distribution, and will oversee production for linear television and film projects. Baghdady joins the company from ADHD studios, where she was executive producer and executive in charge of production.
  • Keshet International has made two new hires for its Asia sales team: Cherry Lu and Kelvin Ko. Lu was previously head of International Projects at Beijing Century Media, where she worked on the Chinese edition of KI’s talent show Rising Star, and was responsible for coordinating international TV format acquisitions and productions. Ko joins the company from Mattel Group’s Hit Entertainment, where he was TV Sales manager.
