A+E Networks has renewed its carriage deal with pan-African operator Multichoice for HISTORY and Crime + Investigation. Under the deal, Multichoice will continue to distribute the channel brands (including Lifetime) on the DStv platform across Sub-Saharan Africa. A+E has invested in the African market—after launching Lifetime in 2014, opening a Johannesburg office in 2015 and appointing its first Africa General Manager (Yusuf Nabee), the company has reported a 55% growth of its channels in South Africa since 2012. Roots and Black Sails are offered on HISTORY, while A+E has also commissioned local versions of Pawn Stars (pictured), Four Weddings and Married at First Sight.
