MGM upped Mark Burnett to chairman of its Worldwide Television Group. Burnett joined MGM as president of MGM Television and Digital Group in 2015.
Burnett has produced several successful series including Survivor, The Voice, and Shark Tank, among others. In his new position, Burnett will oversee television creative and production. His contract has been extended through 2022. Under Burnett’s leadership, MGM Television has expanded with the acquisitions of Evolution Media and Big Fish Entertainment.
AMC Networks International promoted Patrick Connolly (pictured) to senior vice president, Programming, for AMC / SundanceTV Global.
In 2011, Connolly joined AMC Networks, where he most recently served as vice president of Programming and Scheduling. In his new position, Connolly will oversee acquisition, planning, scheduling, and global strategy of linear and VOD programming.
He will also lead global AMCNI teams in partnering with other business divisions to develop opportunities with acquisitions and co-productions. Additionally, he will serve as executive producer of all film festival coverage for SundanceTV Global.
