This week, Starz and FremantleMedia North America (FMNA) started production this week in Toronto on the first season of American Gods. The 10-episode the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel. American Gods portrays a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological versus a cohort of modern gods, who reflect a love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.   Cloris Leachman (Malcom in The Middle) joins the cast as Zorya Vechernyaya, Peter Stormare (Fargo) has signed on as Czernobog, while Chris Obi (Snow White and the Huntsman) will board as Anubis and Mousa Kraish has joined the lineup (Superbad) as The Jinn.
