Scripps Network Interactive has named Heng Yee Shan head of Brand Marketing and Communications, Asia-Pacific. In this newly created position, Shan will report to Derek Chang, managing director of Scripps Networks Interactive, Asia-Pacific. Shan will be responsible for creating and executing the marketing strategy, overseeing the brand, digital engagement, PR and communications, talent marketing and research functions. Shan previously served as director of Network Communications at MTV Networks.
108 Media Corp has appointed Nancy Silverstone as head of Acquisitions and Content Strategy. Silverstone was previously vp of Program Acquisitions at Starz, where she acquired all genres and formats of content and developed co-productions for the Starz and Encore channels. Silverstone was also manager of Film Programming at HBO. In her new role, Silverstone will look to increase the company’s reach across all platforms including broadcast networks, cable TV, digital, OTT channels, home entertainment, and theatrical venues.
Stephen Joy has been tapped for the newly created position of director, U.K. and SVOD Sales at Content Television. Joy previously worked a director of TV & Digital for Koch Media U.K. In his new position, Joy will oversee U.K. sales and incorporate partner catalogues to broadcast television, SVOD platforms and home entertainment labels. Joy will also manage Content Television’s relationship with selected SVOD platforms.
New York-based production company Left/Right has promoted two longstanding executives. Anneka Jones has been named evp, Development & Current Production, and will continue to head up and manage the company’s growing unscripted development slate. Jones has been with the company for over a decade. Kevin Vargas, who has been with the company since its inception, has been elevated to COO. Jones and Vargas will continue to report to Co-Presidents Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver.
