Fox Studios has picked up the U.S. option for a political comedy Servant of the People produced by Ukrainian production company Kvartal 95. Imagine will be the producers of the series. Servant of the People became the highest rated TV-product of the last autumn season, and the story is about modest history teacher Vasiliy who was caught on camera raging over the miserable situation in his country. When a pupil posts the video on Youtube, it becomes a viral sensation. Everybody loves Vasiliy’s outrage and people start gathering money for a presidential campaign. Servant of the People follows Vasiliy’s new life as president; although he lives in an apartment and commutes by bike. In August 2016 Kvartal 95 started production of the feature movie and second season of the series. The first season as readymade product was sold to Estonia, Moldova and Kazakhstan.
