The Vancouver International Film Festival announced that its Opening Night Gala Film will showcase Mina Shum’s Meditation Park. Partnered with Premier Supporter Telefilm, VIFF presents Movie Nights Across Canada as part of the opening night events. In addition, VIFF revealed the films for the True North and Future/Present screenings. The Truth North stream will feature Stephen Campanelli’s Indian Horse, Hélène Choquette’s Like a Pebble in the Boot, and Pascal Plante’s Tattoos, among others. The Future/Present lineup includes Cory Bowles’ Black Cop, Jacquelyn Mills’ In the Waves, and Blake Williams’ Prototype, among others. VIFF runs from September 28 through October 13, 2017.
