NHK World TV will present a special on Kaoru Ogura, a man who dedicated his life to exposing the atrocities of Hiroshima. My Small Steps from Hiroshima is set to air on August 6. The son of Japanese immigrants in the U.S., Ogura settled in Hiroshima after the war and began working for the city. He interviewed survivors, conducted research and provided Austrian journalist Robert Jungk with over 800 pages of findings. The special comes in a series of war and peace programs in August, including Atomic Bomb Memorial Day Special: Message from Nagasaki and The Day the Nuclear Arms Race Began.
