Starz has started production and finished casting for The White Princess, a follow-up to the The White Queen miniseries. The eight episode original limited series, adapted from Philippa Gregory’s novel of the same name, explores the marriage between Elizabeth of York and King Henry VII, charts one of the most tumultuous times in British history from the point of view of the women waging the ongoing battle for the English throne. The cast includes Jodie Comer (Doctor Foster) as Princess Elizabeth; Jacob Collins-Levy (Glitch) as Henry VII; Essie Davis (Babadook) as Dowager Queen Elizabeth, along with Joanne Whalley (Wolf Hall) as the Duchess of Burgundy and Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones) as Henry VII’s mother. Emma Frost is showrunner and executive producer, and Jamie Paynye (Queen of South) will direct five episodes.
