Basic Lead, the organizers of the inaugural 29 Palms Military Film Festival, have released more details about the festival. The festival will feature 24 films and docs, both studio and independent movies that commemorate military members and their families. Veterans will also share their recollections from the Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. The festival will open Friday, May 13 at 5pm at the 29 Palms Inn, and will run until May 15. There will be a special tribute to the Fall of Saigon Marines, followed the outdoor screening of director Rory Kennedy’s 2014 Academy Award-nominated film, Last Days of Vietnam, after the reception.
